Baseball-Personal Narrative

I'm not a coward nor a scaredy cat that fears. I just had a feeling that something would happen, just not to me at baseball practice for some reason. My gut usually told me the truth. So I had a really strong feeling about something would happen. For an eleven year old my pain tolerance is ok.

So my practice started at six, but we had to be there at 5:45 to warm up. It was 5:35 and my mom said ‘’let's go.” Then we left to go to my baseball practice, we were listening to rap music. Then me and my mom showed up to practice at 5:40. I got out the car and then got my baseball bag out the trunk, it felt like 50 pounds. After I got it out I started walking to the gate where we get in at, my friend Eli had been already there and he yelled “hurry up buttercup”, I just grinned. Then I got to the dugout and Eli asked “ you want to toss”, I said “sure, let's do it”. After I got my cleats on we went out and tossed.

At 6:00 we started to field ground balls, The field was dry and it was a little bit rocky so the ball would take weird bounces. Don’t even get me started about the outfield, The outfield had long grass, little holes and the ball would take weird hops just like the infield. Then we started to play six out baseball, nothing really happened till the third round when my team was up to bat. I hit a line shot that one hoped to the fence. I was first and the feeling came back to me. Then breaden missed the first strike and everyone laughed at him and said “I could feel the wind on that swing.” Then he swung at the next pitch and hit it to dead center, that's when something happens.

After the center fielder threw it, I did one of the things you should not do in baseball , look at the ball while you are sliding. When I did this, the second I look I got hit in the face with the
