After completing six and a half innings, we head into the bottom of the final inning as the Aquinas Blugolds are ahead of Lake Country Lutheran 4-2. As a young child around the age of 5, I started playing baseball, and just like almost every little boy or girl, I always had that dream about making the game-winning shot in basketball or making that diving catch to win the state championship in baseball. My dream was almost fulfilled on June 18th, 2015. The season started in March and went all the way until June. At the beginning of the season, I wasn’t sure how much playing time I would get. It turned out that I would only play in the field when my brother, Alex, pitched. Luckily for me, that was usually every game in the 6th or the 7th …show more content…
That was the longest time that I ever sat on the bench for baseball in my entire career. The 2 weeks pass and now we have our health line up full and healthy which ment Alex was back in the pitching rotation, and therefore I was able to play as well. Now we are getting into play-offs and we 10-run both teams in regionals to make it to sectionals. We made it to sectionals and 10-run both of those teams as well, only allowing 2 runs in all of the 4 play-off games we have played. We make it to state in Appleton. Our first game we play is against Marathon. We didn’t hear much about this team other than they had a lefty pitcher who threw low to mid 80 miles per hour, which is relatively fast for high school baseball. We got into the 6th inning, and we are ahead 12-2. The coaches tell Alex that he needs to get ready to pitch, which also means that I need to get my arm loose to play second base. Alex went into the game and had a 1,2,3 inning, so he retired the guys in order, ending the game and sending us to the state final to play Lake Country

In my life, nothing has taught me more about life than the game of baseball. When you play a game that is about winning and losing since early childhood, you will be able to handle the winning and losing of life a lot easier. Losing always make players dream of what it would be like to win a championship and be the best at there game. I experienced the ups and down’s of this game all to well, and wouldn’t be that person I am today without it. In my first year of kindergarten, I played league ball in the spring and fell in love for the first time with the game of baseball.…

Now is the time I get to shine, now is the time I have always looked forward to. I can remember going to watch the Nettleton Lady Tigers play, so I could watch Mackenzie Hawkins and Lauren Baldwyn play. I use to think that I could not wait for the day that I could be out on that field. When I was in the ninth grade, I was able to play my first varsity game in that slowpitch and fastpitch season. My ninth grade year, I hit my very first home run during that fastpitch season.…

Title: Never Giving Up Softball Have you ever played a sport and you felt like your team would never win a game? Well that is what the whole 8th grade varsity felt like by the end of the softball season. I first started playing softball because my dad played in our church league. It was a cold Saturday morning and we were playing the 22nd best team in the state and a team that has 2,000 more kids at their school than ours and we have the opportunity to beat them. Coming into the game we, as the players and coaches of our team, were the only people that believed that we could beat the Alton Redbirds. Since I was a little kid I’ve dreamed about playing varsity baseball for the Civic Memorial Eagles. It’s probably been every baseball players’ dream as a kid that has been to Bethalto. I’ve always went to their baseball camps and meet the coaches so they would know who I was every year.…

From the smell of fresh cut grass to the chalked-up dirt, the softball field is a place I love to be. Softball has played a huge part in my life. I started playing at a very young age with my brother, who is one year younger than I am. My dad played baseball when he was younger, and he almost played for the Mexican Baseball Team, but he got injured right before tryouts so he couldn’t play. My dad first took my brother and I to a baseball game when I was two years old, it was probably the beginning to a new tradition.…

This last school year I moved to Nebraska to live there for awhile. While I was there I went to school and played my favorite sport baseball. The entire day of the game, which was on a Thursday, I was in a marvelous mood because I couldn’t wait for the game that night.…

Of course I didn’t see this, Scott did though. He would start throwing tougher and tougher challenges at me and I would take them on head on instead of shying away like I used to. Soon enough, I was doing only ten burpees a night and Scott was running out of ideas to challenge me. That was fine though because the high school season was coming around. My junior year of softball was even better than I could have imagined only toward the end of the season though.…
