Baseball has been the glue to my life since elementary school. It didn’t matter whether it was little league, travel ball, all star teams, Junior Varsity or Varsity. There is nowhere else I’d rather be. I truly feel that my dedication to this sport has lifted me to be the man I am today. I believe learning how to do the hardest thing in sports, hit a baseball, has translated into learning to overcome adversity in my everyday life. I’d only recently realized this, but it’s been present the whole time I’ve been playing baseball. This year, my teammates and coaches voted me to be the senior captain of the Varsity squad. I believe that there is no way I could’ve achieved anything like that if I hadn’t persisted through the struggles of the sport.
