An experience in my life that impacted my life was my 6th grade baseball season. It was the summer of my 6th grade year and I was currently on the Hartland Hawks baseball team but I wanted to play more competitive baseball. I wanted a challenge. Me and my dad started looking into teams I could try out for. We found a team called the Wisconsin Rivercats. This was a high level travel team that went all around the country to play the best teams. I was very hesitant about trying out because I don’t do well with failure. The whole week leading up to the tryout my dad kept reminding me that it is okay if I didn’t make the team and the tryout alone would be a good experience. Each day closer to the tryout day my stomach grew more nauseous.

Racial history of pro baseball The baseball world that the young Jackie Robinson knew consisted of a whites-only system of the eight-team National and American leagues, as well as hundreds of Minor league teams.
