Complications at Barton Community College
There are many problems at Barton Community College. Government officials and the president of Barton Community College can help solve some of the problems by attempting to make sure college students graduate so there are no longer low completion rates, shutting down remedial classes because this is a college and students should no longer be taking high school level classes, wi-fi access, and adding more work hours for student employees. This would save the college and students a lot of money. Remedial classes don’t count toward someone’s degree. These students must take more classes which increase the chance of not even graduating. By removing remedial classes the college can save money and have a higher graduation rate because only college level students will be able to attend. This would push people to work harder to get a good grade on the placement tests which keeps future students from taking unnecessary courses. Wi-fi access is something that needs a lot of work at Barton Community College. The wi-fi shows that you are connected with full bars and still sometimes doesn’t work correctly. I had workers come in and install a direct wi-fi cable and the wi-fi still isn’t that great. The president of Barton should maybe change the company they are using or install more direct wi-fi cables all over the school. Multiple people complain about the wi-fi problems at this college. They should try resetting the modem and router, disable firewalls, reinstall wireless device and drivers, reinstall the latest network drivers, and upgrade computer code. It doesn’t matter where you go the wi-fi access still isn’t the best. The president should give more work hours to student employees. College is expensive and students should be able to work as many hours as they want to help pay for their college. Students who work are more confident and have better time management skills. There should not be a limit on how many hours a student employee should get when students are the ones who are paying for their education. Especially the students that are receiving no help from their parents for education costs.
