My paper is about Aubrey Drake Graham (Drake). He was born in Toronto, Canada in 1986 and he became famous very quickly. When he was a teenager he was on the show “Degrassi”, while doing that he worked on his rap career. He has made a ton of songs and albums, and he has also featured in other people’s albums. Aubrey Drake Graham was born to a mixed race family in Toronto, Canada in 1986, and was raised as a child to be Jewish. He grew up with music in his life also, His father, Dennis Graham was a drummer for the legendary rock star Jerry Lee Lewis. He also said that his mother came from a very musical background. Drake comes from a very unique religious and racial background, His mother is a white Canadian Jew and his father in an Africa –American catholic. It all started when he was a teenager. The father of one of his friends was and agent. The boy’s father says “If there is anyone that makes you laugh have them audition for me.” He went to audition and he made it. He got the roll of Jimmy Brooks sometimes called “Wheelchair Jimmy”, a basketball star that permanently in a wheelchair after being shot by a classmate. Drake said, “Propelling Drake to celebrity status in Canada, even while he remained relatively anonymous in the United States.” While staring on Degrassi Drake also worked on his rapping career. His first mixtape “Room for Improvement was released in 2006, in 2007 he released another mixtape called Comeback Season, which included his first hit single and music video, “Replacement Girl”. In 2008 Degrassi overhauled the cast, which eliminated Drakes character. Drake was left with no job because he wasn’t yet making significant money as a rapper.
