Bullying? Recently I had come in contact with an opinion piece article of Barry Soper “Pm son doesn 't deserve cyber bullying”, which highlighted the extent of bullying that now exists from 10 years ago. Since bullying is a topic which everyone talks about but does nothing or little about it, it made me think "how does bullying affect young people in New Zealand?" Base on the facts and figures gathered the affects of bullying on children is much more profound than what was once thought. Bullying is not a slowing or dying problem but instead growing this generation of school students, detentions are now simply not good enough, some harder actions must be taken fast! Due to the rate and forms of bullying the physical affects have significantly changed from the last 10 years. “children who are bullies can sometimes lose complete interest in the hobbies and activities which they once loved”. The affect of bullying is not just a minor issue of loss of interest, but the “victim may develop a sleeping disorder” due to the fact that they have experienced a very traumatic event in their life.
