With his growing skill and mastery of photography came increased passion and excitement. Barron says the moment he took his first good picture, where he was able to manipulate the focus, he had a revelation: “Wow, I thought, this is awesome.”
The idea of capturing a moment in time became increasingly appealing to Barron. He now has an obsession with keeping every image he is sent and every conversation he has had with friends via text message or AIM, which can all be found on his computer. He has labeled himself a “digital hoarder.” With photographs, he loves being able to take moments and memories and make them tangible. Then, through editing and Photoshop, he can make them even more beautiful.
“That was the most difficult part. With Photoshop, the possibilities are endless. Sky’s the limit.”
Mastering Photoshop ultimately set Barron apart from other, less tech savvy aspiring photographers. His knowledge of photo editing took him from another kid with a camera to somebody people wanted to hire. When he entered college, Barron started taking his camera everywhere, including clubs and parties (he does not drink so he is not worried about losing or breaking it) and he would snap photos of his friends.
