The word baroque came from the Portuguese word “barroco.” Baroque music had been used in western European music from 1600 to 1750. The baroque era includes spirit, opera and its components, cantata and oratorio, concerto, and instrumental music. The greatest example I choose from our book for late baroque period music is an Antonio Vivaldi work, “Spring, from the Four seasons la primavera, from le quattro stgioni), op. 8 1 I.” Spring music is a good example of baroque period because it is well-known in a baroque history of music and published in 1725, which is in the same baroque period of time.
