After meeting with many other reformers, I have come to the conclusion that I am most similar to T.S. Arthur. When I met with him I learned he was a temperance activist. Similarly, I fight for the prohibition of liquor. We were both raised in religious families that educated us on the dangers of drinking. Another topic we discussed was how we both accomplished writing a book.…

I see a reflection of myself when analyzing the character Lena Tiddle, from Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Although Lena lives in a dystopian society while I do not, we run parallel with many traits that we each inhabit, socially and mentally. First of all, mentally we are both slightly fearful. While the mental fear that I hold is not as extreme as the fear Lena holds, it is a trait that bonds the two of us. Lena’s mental fearfulness is exemplified through her need to constantly feel protected and shielded from things outside of her comfort zone.…

The character I could relate to the best was America Singer. America was born as a 5, meaning her ranking in society was pretty low. The government's way of hierarchy was unfair, but America had the opportunity to join the Selection where she competed against 35 other girls to try to become the crowned princess and become Prince Maxon's beloved wife. I relate to America because at first she despised the idea of joining the Selection, but after all, it was an experience of a lifetime. I feel the same way sometimes, unenthusiastic, bored, and tired of others telling me what to do, but in the end, it's not so bad.…
