Barn Owl

Soren, a Barn Owl is a young baby owl who lives in a fir tree in the Tyto Forest with his mother, father, older brother (Kludd), and younger sister (Eglantine). One night when his parents are off hunting, his older and jealous brother, Kludd, shoves Soren out of the nest/tree. Soren falls to the ground unhurt but is helpless because he cannot fly. The blind snake, Mrs. Plithiver, the nestmaid who watches over the children and cleans the nest, attempts to rescue Soren but can’t.

Soren, helpless and confused, is scared of the dawn coming. Dawn means that the raccoons will be out and raccoons often go after helpless baby owls that fall out of the nests.Soren feels a draft of wind, he cries out, thinking that his mom or dad come to rescue him. Aggie's Academy is not what it seems it was basically a prison. By exposing owlets to the dangerous shine of the moon, the owlets lose their personality and become mindless tools of evil and destruction. Soren and Gylfie realize that the only way to escape the deep canyon floors was to learn how to fly. An infiltrator named Hortense assists them but is caught in the act and got killed for helping them. Soren and Gylfie turn to the elderly Boreal Owl named Grimble, a somber owl with a sad past. Grimble teaches them to fly and helps them escape the canyons.

A main character in this story is Soren,he is a barn owl(Tyto alba).from the kingdom of the Forest of Tyto. Heres some more characters. Kludd,oldest brother of Soren and Eglantine.He become so full of power and betrays his family. Gylfie,Elf Owl,one of Soren ’s new friends he meets when he got captured,Soren and Gylfie find out St. Aggie’s Academy isn’t what it seemed.Grimble,Boreal owl,Aegolius funerus,he was captured as an adult by St. Aegolius patrols and held as a hostage with a promise that his family would be spared
