Barington Irving Pilot And Educator Analysis

Dreams Drive. WIthout passion, what would life be all about? Wouldn’t everyone just be driven by what was expected instead of what makes a person feel alive? Having knowledge about a subject is a safety net for what really drives a dream, passion. When the begining of a dream takes hold there is a simple thing that drives that dream to be something bigger than one could ever imagine, passion. In the story “Barrington Irving Pilot and Educator” A 15 year old boy named Barrington Irving was working in his parents bookstore, not knowing what his life was going to be all about, until a customer came into the store and saw the potential this young boy had to be something great and he asked him if he had ever thought about being a pilot, being surrounded by poverty, crime, and failing schools a dream as big as being a pilot seemed completely out of reach to Barrington, he responded that he didn’t think he was smart enough. He was taken a commercial plane that the customer the flew, and sat in cockpit and said that once he had that experience he was hooked.
