I had an opportunity to minister to friends who are like Vine and Barefoot both attend our church. A member of mine who is like Vine was introduced to me when she tried to commit suicide afraid how her sexual orientation will ruin the image of her parents and siblings. I walked with her for several weeks encouraging her how her life is important without quoting a word from the Bible. I listened to her fears and anxieties and with her permission arranged a meeting with her parents and family. I asked her to share her feelings. The good news is having conversation openly helped them to embrace her and tell her they love her in spite of her sexual orientation. The other friend who is some what like Barefoot changed
