There’s this park. For years this park brought a family together who are now distant. During those years this park held the greatest family barbeques, get-togethers,baseball and basketball games ever. But it’s not the appearance of the park that makes it special. It’s what is gave me. It gave me the times to see my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, and family friends all in one place. Those days would always put a smile on my face because I have a huge family, so I wouldn’t always get to see everyone all the time, but those days. What I can remember specifically were the barbeques. During those Barbeques, it would guarantee to bring my whole family together because who wants to pass up on free food .
This park is called MarchBanks and its placed in Daly City, which is right outside from

When people showed up the fun lasted all day. It would be a sunny noon, my two uncles, Lauren and Byron on the grill. Cooking chicken, hot links, and ribs. And back at my grandparents house my aunt Cynthia and Tiara would prepare the sides for when people start showing up.They would prepare up the best potato salad and mac and cheese. Before it did start my siblings and I would the dumbest things ever. Climbing up on things too high was the number one thing. People got hurt a little but we never stopped smiling. Then when people did start showing up I would see my other aunts and uncles , my older and younger cousins, even 2nd cousins too, then there would be the family friends. These family friends were never friends they were always called cousins. Which still this confuses me, but in the end it doesn't matter because we were all together sharing a loving moment that continued for years and almost became a tradition
Those were the good old times . Having fun with family is something you can never replace.MarchBanks park is where it all happened, which is why whenever I see it now it reminds me of the good memories I had with my family and that’s

I was over ecstatic when Fernando, (also known as Fernie) my best guy friend asked me to go on a walking adventure with him in our hometown of Kelseyville, California. We started off the day by walking in the forest alongside of Kelsey Creek. This forest has a really big meaning to Fernie and I, because we both love nature in every aspect and these walking adventures are not uncommon to us. Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…

As children, people partake in some of their favorite experiences. Many of those people as adults would love to go back to the places where their experiences happened. With time, their children can have the same experiences as their parents; however, the children’s experiences will differ because of conditions around them. In the short story, “Once More to the Lake”, a father compares his trips to the lake as a child to the trip he took with his own son.…

I step out of my car, and onto the gravel parking lot. Looking around, I notice the eager children frantically pulling at their parent’s hands as they walk into the pumpkin patch. Almost immediately a nostalgic sense of happiness sets in. That warm fuzzy feeling inside my stomach is impossible to ignore at this point as the memories of my childhood flood in. This feeling remains constant throughout October, November and December but it is strongest in October.…

For my mini-ethnography, I decided to choose Harold A Henry Park, a park that is in the middle of Windsor Village and has been apart of that community for a while now. I picked this park because it has a great deal of meaning to me and is my neighborhood park. I grew up only a block away from this lovely park which is in the middle of a residential area. I use to walk to the park almost everyday and play soccer or in the jungle gym with all the other little kids who lived in the area, this park was where I spent most of my childhood. Since this park is located in the middle of a residential area, it can be expected that it isn’t as big as other parks such as Pan Pacific or West Hollywood Park.…

I noticed much talk about college and older family members giving college student family members advice about their career decisions. Thus, we participate in the “career advice ritual.” These statements include, “Make sure you attend class and get to know your professors” or “I hope you are participating in extra activities outside of class” or “Make sure that you can get a job out of college with your major choice” or “Do you have a part time job now? If not, get one.”…
