Barbara Amaya Research Paper

At the age of 12 Barbara Amaya ran away from home, little did she know she became a walking target for traffickers. Barbara grew up in northern Virginia where she started getting abused by family members. Barbara stopped going to school and lived on the streets. Eventually a couple realized her and how young she was and decided to help her at least that’s what Barbara thought. That’s when Barbara was introduced to trafficking, the couple used her for a few months then sold her to a man name Moses. Soon after this man took her to New York where she trafficked for 8 years. To ease her pain Barbara became addicted to drugs. Barbara’s habits became so expensive that she was no longer a value to her trafficker so he left her stranded in New York.
