Women in the past fought so that today women would have the right to vote in elections. To think that all their efforts for women’s suffrage are being thrown out the door because women today do not care about who the next president will be is saddening. There are men and women who fight as feminists, but claim that they do not matter in regards to votes. The amount of effort that was put forth just for the right for women to vote seems to have been put to waste. This thought also applies to people of color. It is not only women who think that their vote will not count, there are many groups of people within the United States that feel this way. The fight for citizens to vote has been a long fought battle. No matter who the next president is, there will be consequences, and whether they are good or bad is up to the public. If United States citizens decide to take the initiative, they could change the ballot in their favor. The people have a choice and the ability to choose who the next person in charge is. They have the right to choose who will represent them and who will be the one to take charge and make the country a fair place to live in.
