Barack Obama delivered the speech “A More Perfect Union” in March of 2008. Showcasing to the American people he was ready to lead and inspire a nation whose culture, values, and history are just as varied and mixed as his own. President Obama is a tall and slender man, who is well dressed and well spoken. He is very well educated, obviously as the president of the United States should be, attending Harvard Law School. One quality Mr. Obama has that I really admire is his public speaking. He is unfazed and delivers speeches with passion and energy
Obama speaks openly and honestly in his speech bringing his own memories and past experiences into account. He starts off with a moment in history to remind us about the foundation of which our country was founded

He entails an all for one mentality, where the only thing negativity is doing is holding us back as a nation. Obama talks about coming together and getting past all the racial tension in our country, in doing so creating “A More Perfect Union”. Negativity towards one another in terms of race or religion, is doing nothing but stalling progress. He outlines a nation where people of every walk of life come together in unity stating “This time we want to talk about the men and women of every color and creed who serve together, and fight together, and bleed together under the same proud flag” (Obama, A More Perfect Union).

It’s been eight years since March of 2008 when Barack gave his speech titled “A More Perfect Union” when he took the nation by storm, inspiring people with his message of change. On this day in history he spoke to people of all races and cultures in a way no one has seen before. His desire of “A More Perfect Union” was a great challenge, but one he was willing to take.
