Leadership Leadership has many different meaning for different people. It is a skill that some people have to lead oneself or others. Being a leader requires multiple different qualities like passion, willingness to make sacrifices, preservation, courage and many more traits along those lines. “Leadership is about getting people to understand and believe in your vision and to work with you to achieve your goals…” (Understanding the Differences Between Leadership VS. Management). Many presidents of the United States had effective leadership. In particular the 44th first African American president, Barack Hussein Obama II was and still is a very brilliant leader. Obama has an inspiring story because of life in both the public eye being presidents of the U.S. and his life not in the public eye as a successful young black man. …show more content…
was born in August 4, 1961 in Hawaii capital Honolulu. His parents were Ann Dunham a white woman for Kansas, and Barack Obama Sr. a Black man from Kenya. Obama’s relationship with his father was nonexistence, he was raised by his mother and maternal grandparent in Hawaii. He went off to college in LA and NY then went to law school at Harvard in 1988 and met Michelle Robinson at a law firm. Later on Obama publish a memoir in 1995 called Dreams from My Father: A story of Race and Inheritance which talks about his “...struggles to understand the forces that shaped him as the son of a black African father and a white American mother”(Goodreads). His perseverance to be great even without his father in his life and growing up
