Now that he is almost out of term he is racing to get a policy passed that is an executive order to review the disposition of prisoners being held at the naval base and to review the disposition of prisoners being held at the naval base in Cuba. This is a bad idea, there are inmates in Gitmo that need to stay there. If any of the inmates were to ever escape Gitmo they would not be in a safe environment, but they would be far from American soil. Releasing the inmates would allow for groups like ISIS to grow with the enemies that reside there. It is a fact the the use of Camp Bucca in Umm Qasr, Iraq to hold Iraqi persons of war helped lead to the creation of networks in the camp where they exchanged information. The detainees were already grouped together and making plans. They shared similar beliefs and ideas allowing for better creations to be made later on. This was a policy that President Obama came up within his first term. He proposed to buy old cars with bad gas efficiency and give people 3500-4500 cash to buy new cars with better gas efficiency. This would hypothetically would allow for old gas guzzlers to get off the road and help increase the sales of the American auto industry. His ultimate goal was to help the climate issues and help bail out the auto industry from there recent crash in the economy recession.
This policy could have been more successful if the vision had focused on how to benefit the domestic automakers and the United States government more. The vision was that after people would use their vouchers for more fuel efficient new cars. This would allow a boost in the auto industry and bring more people to the dealerships. A more efficient view would have been to boost domestic automaker sales and help out the planet. This could have been done by making more efficient vehicles then out foreign competitors first. So when trading in your clunker you would be looking at vehicles with better miles per gallon made domestically and not foreign made. Changing this view and focusing on domestic availability could have boosted domestic automaker sales better. So the United States would have greatly benefited instead, the United States did not benefit as much as they would have liked and cash
