Barack Obama Pros And Cons

Decent Essays
Having read both the pro and con article, the pro article made for a weaker argument. It gave less supportive details than the con article and provided a minimal amount of examples. The text said, "President Barack Obama has no choice. He may not like it, but putting more troops on the ground is the surest way to win this war." The author does not proceed on about how or why this strategy will work. For example, by putting out more U.S. troops, our country could defeat Islamic state by attacking hard and strong and not relinquishing. Having more U.S. troops available could also mean more backup if attacking troops need help.

This chapter talks about the downsides of ‘thin slicing’ thus presenting the Warren Harding error. Gladwell claims that when we let our unconscious biases evade the blink operation, our perceptions are frequently incorrect. He introduces his idea by recalling the election that took place in the 1920s, won by the 29th US president Warren Harding. Many historians state that Mr. Harding’s main reason for rising to the presidency was based on his attractive physical appearance. He had no political skills whatsoever, and is often labeled as the worst president ever.…

The Pros of a Donald Trump Presidency American politics have always fascinated me. Where else can you find a medium that discusses some of the world's most pressing issues, while at the same time giving you an opportunity to analyze American behavior as it unfolds upon a political system that has influenced many other countries, including the Dominican Republic. But let’s be honest, politics can also be very dull, with its insipid candidates, anticlimactic voting system, and laws worded in such a way that would confuse even Joyce. Thank god for Donald Trump!…

One of the earliest politicians who displayed political courage and did not succumb to the three pressures that discourage political courage was the young senator from Massachusetts John Quincy Adams who joined the senate in 1803. Being the son of the former U.S President John Adams, the Federalist party pressured John Quincy Adams to live up to their expectations and point of views. However, from the beginning, John Quincy Adams had strong puritan views, that frequently collided with the viewpoints of his political party, leading him to break off quickly from the Federalist. For example, supporting the Louisiana Purchase and the call on Congress to enact an embargo against Great Britain, which in turn would have a dreadful effect on Massachusetts economy.…

The Jackson administration was a great crime in the history of the United States, President Andrew Jackson has managed to bring continual destruction to our nation. For three main reasons were the charges placed upon President Jackson; the first reason, in which Pres. Jackson destroyed the separation of powers by illegally increasing the pre-established powers of a President. For the second justification, was when he weakened the federal system of government by impairing the power of state governments. And the final occasion, where he rendered the economy of the United States helpless by his imprudent and politically motivated actions.…

American fellows! While we are enjoying the air of patriotic pride and the fortune to be one of the most intelligent and thoughtful citizens of the United States, we must stay alert to the critical problems that block our way to establish a divine and peaceful nation. However, the condition and ulterior destiny of the Indian tribes are trembling because of the absolute control of our president Andrew Jackson, regarding his brutal, arbitrary forces and various unjust acts towards Native Americans. His policies resulted in the usurpation of land, attempts to destroy tribal culture, and the forcible removal of Native Americans from homes in Southeastern of our nation to a designated territory west of the Mississippi River. Therefore, in order to save our Native American friends…

I am honestly not surprised at all about what the video has to say. It's wrong that this type of stuff is allowed to happen in our country our government looks a lot more like an oligarchy than a republic. Personally I think money and power corrupts people and that's what's happening in our congress as soon as a lobbyist approach a congressmen with some cash the people's voice he represents flys right out the window. What we need is a strong progressive leader that will crack down on this corruption like Theodore Roosevelt did back in the early 1900's. It is downright outrageous that the people spending money on our politics spend 5.8 billion and in return make 4.4 trillion which is coming from the taxpayers.…

It was the summer of 1789 and the Constitutional Convention had just finished its debate on a new governing document, which would be imperfect but audacious for it’s time. As, he walked down the streets of Philadelphia that day, Dr. Benjamin Franklin was stopped by a woman, who asked, “Sir, what form of government have you bequeath us?” to which Dr. Franklin replied, “a Republic, if you can keep it.” 227 years later, through a fratricidal war, the stains of slavery and Jim Crow, two world wars, and countless financial crisis’, through both the highs and lows of the American story, I believe it safe to say that we have done exactly what Dr. Franklin implored us to do in so long ago in 1789. However, 2016 presented us with new challenges in what…

President Obama’s Hypocrisy President Barack Hussein Obama is the forty fourth president of the United States elected in 2008 and he is the first president, under the constitution, of African descent. He worked his way up from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate and was officially sworn in as president on January 20, 2009. Given his background in politics, logically, people assumed that he was a responsible, trustworthy candidate for president; however, his actions prove otherwise. His past work does not stand for his mental ability to run and decide for a country. Instead of his idea of “hope” and “change”, his presidency has brought the United States to the brink of ruin.…

Since March of 2010, the American people have had to suffer under the incredible economic burden of the Affordable Care Act—Obamacare. This legislation, passed by totally partisan votes in the House and Senate and signed into law by the most divisive and partisan President in American history, has tragically but predictably resulted in runaway costs, websites that don’t work, greater rationing of care, higher premiums, less competition and fewer choices. Obamacare has raised the economic uncertainty of every single person residing in this country. As it appears Obamacare is certain to collapse of its own weight, the damage done by the Democrats and President Obama, and abetted by the Supreme Court, will be difficult to repair unless the next…

President Eisenhower was clearly worried about the direction the world was heading. He warned us to avoid the impulse to live only for just today, plundering our resources of tomorrow. He didn’t want people to be stuck in the present, because the future of our children and grandchildren depends on it. He states that we can’t mortgage material assets for the future generations without asking for the loss of their political and spiritual heritage. Therefore, he wanted Americans to push for a democracy to survive.…
