During, our recent presidential election on Tuesday November 8th 2016, between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, my co-workers and I were watching the votes coming in online within every thirty minutes. Seeing the amount of votes for Trump increasing we began to grow angry over the election for what he wants to do to our country. As midnight approached, Trump was announced the president for the next presidential term, leaving many people filled with anger and anxiety. Along with the news, many joined together to protest and create peaceful riots saying “not my president” to show what they think is right and how everyone should be treated equal no matter if they are Latino/Latina or part of the LGBTQIA community. Due to Trump being elected president, we are all going to watch every step he decides to make towards our country and decide whether or not we agree or disagree with decisions he makes. In this presidential election, it is true that anger and anxiety do create public awareness causing people to have this strong sense of political awareness towards Trump and how they classify him as a xenophobe. As the votes were coming in and increasingly rising for Trump, the anger arose because people are unaware of what Trump is trying to do. On April 26, 2016, Trump, was asked the question “what do you mean, Make America Great Again!”? His response was awfully vague saying he wants to return America into its glory days.
