Bar X Observation Report

On 08/08, we arrived at Tonto Creek and set up 75 traps at Bar X crossing. We placed 42 traps north of the crossing in the main channel and 33 traps just south of the crossing in the main channel. Traps were checked twice daily; in the mornings we inventoried all organisms and emptied traps, and evenings only documented native herps. We pulled traps from Bar X on 08/11 at 1300, two days early due to flooding. During the week, we conducted two visual encounter surveys, one south of Bar X crossing in the creek and one south of A crossroad, in the main channel.

We did not detect any T. eques in while trapping. However, detected two native herpetofaunal species in traps sonoran mud turtle hatchlings (Kinosternon sonoriense) and woodhouse toad
