If 't be so, for Banquo's issue have I filed my mind; For them the gracious Duncan have I murdered, put rancors in the vessel of my peace only for them, and mine eternal jewel given to the common enemy of man to make them kings, the seeds of Banquo kings. Rather than so, come fate into the list, and champion me to th' utterance.(3,1,70) is the most important quote in act 3. It shows Macbeth’s jealousy feeling towards Banquo, further more leading Macbeth to the witches.
This quote was said by Macbeth,after he realized Fleance and Banquo’s existence are a great threat to his power and just before the hired murders arrives. Macbeth changed mentally after murdering the king, the guilt is starting to affect his decisions and how he acts and thinks.

“ Eternal jewel” is like the jewel that stays eternal which correspond to Macbeth’s soul and his life before killing Duncan. The phrase “mine eternal jewel given to the common enemy of man to make them kings” Shows Macbeth’s soul being sacrifice for his enemies sake and how he is regretting over it.“Put rancors in the vessel of my peace only for them” Rancors stands for hatred and the feeling of unfairness. Macbeth filled his original vessel of peace with the emotion hatred and unfairness, all to benefit Banquo and Fleance, his enemy. This quote clearly shows Macbeth’s envyness feeling towards Banquo.However, he decided to alter his “Fate” by killing Banquo and asking the witches for help, this can be found in the phrase “Rather than so, come fate into the list, and champion me to th'
