In 2014 over 6438 children were adopted through international adoption. Almost all under the age of 12. Without international adoption those children would be suffering and have no family. There are millions of children who don’t have the privilege of having a family, but domestic and international adoption can help them get a family. People should be allowed to adopt internationally because there are people all around the world that need families, people shouldn’t be forced to adopt children they don’t want, and families don’t have to be one race or religion.

When internationally adopting there has a long process. Families must be up to date on shots and must have a pre-visit with the child (Pilgrim, 1, 2016). There are about four important steps during adoption. The families need to go through many check ups at the doctor. They also have to be interviewed by the organization they’re adopting from to see if they’re eligible. Families go through all these long steps to adopt internationally because they truly care about these children, and they’re willing to wait and go through everything. Not to mention international adoption cost a huge amount of money. On average international adoption cost around 25,000 to 50,000 dollars. This amount of money can buy one or two cars (Pilgrim, 1, 2016). Adoptive parents adopting internationally must pay to go visit and stay in the country the child’s in. Families don’t have to be one specific race. With all the different cultures in multiracial families can help bring joy to the home, Not only do they receive knowledge from all the diversity in their family. Most people probably think a family must all be the same race, but they don’t. A family isn’t made up by their skin color. A family should be truly made out of love.
