When a robber enter your house it’s better to lose some money than putting your and his life in danger. When people steal they have different reasons for why they decided to steal. For example, some people are part of a criminal gang, others might involve in a crime just because their friend want to do it. Just like Steve, “All the times I had looked at him and wanted to be tough like him” (steve talking about king 78), and others are stealing because they don’t have food. In a recent study conducted by Reid K Smith and James D Agresti, they have found that, “rather than being used for self defense, guns in the home are 22 times more likely to be involved in accidental shootings, homicides, or suicide attempts. In an article it covered this when the text stated, “When gun ownership is more prevalent, the risk of drive–by shootings increases as well. Although both juveniles and adults participate in them, most research on drive–by shootings has focused on the prevalence of gun ownership among adolescents. Substantial numbers of adolescents have owned guns at some point in their lives, although their ownership tends to be sporadic” (Dedel). This shows that having a gun illegally could cause a drive by shooting. If the gun was not in possession the person involved would never have the idea of doing the shooting.…

According to Professor Ervin Staub, the author of The Psychology of Good and Evil, “intense violence...is not evil, but justified self-defense in response to unjustified attack” (Staub 5).
