Sometimes it’s fun not knowing the answer. Often not knowing the answer is what helps us to see more clearly. Well at least that’s true in Banksy’s case.
Well-known, unknown, British Graffiti master, filmmaker, activist, troublemaker, Banksy, has made headlines around the world for years. Yet his true identity still remains unknown.
Banksy is undoubtedly the most controversial street artist ever known. His artwork sparks curiosity and starts controversy across the world.
After 20 years his identity still remains unknown, which just adds to the hype surrounding his work.

There has been a huge amount of speculation as to who he really is toying with several ideas, some even as dramatic as terrorist.
Although after all of this speculation we are still left asking the question,
“Why the mystery?”
There are several reasons as to why people believe Banksy has made a point of remaining anonymous, and surprisingly they all make sense.
The main reason… it’s illegal. Every piece of art he leaves on a wall, whether the world loves it or hates it is another cause for him to be arrested. Remaining anonyms means that there is never anyone to be caught. Just another powerful message by ‘yours truly’.
Remaining anonyms has also given him an unbelievable power to create the strongest impact surrounding extremely controversial and political issues. His lack of identity adds another huge element of impact and interest to his work.
It’s given him the chance to ‘voice’ huge statements on opinions and ideas that have been xpressesed to millions of people and that have yet remained unnoticed. Hes pretty much just doing the world a huge
