Machines Machines in the woodshop are used to make interesting projects throughout the school year as an elective class. Machines in this class can be dangerous as well as challenging to use such as the band saw. A band saw is used for a free-hand cut which means you can cut in any direction, but the process of cutting with this machine can take time. This machine is also best used to transform into a dowell.

Safety is one of the most important step to use the bandsaw so you won’t get hurt.
One step for being safe is to wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from the dust from the wood you cut. Another step is to not wear anything that dangles and to have everything tucked away so it does not get caught in the blade. If you are talking to someone who’s operating the machine, there is a chance that they will get distracted and possibly hurt themselves badly. Safety is the key to success. A purpose of a bandsaw has many purposes, such as making different types of cuts, and free-handing to do the angle you choose for your project and consists of many functions, but i’ll share the top 3 with you. To start off, meat cutting is commonly used for the band saw the cut specific slices of steak. Metal cutting is also an important function so we use in the community. A band saw is used for certain jobs and projects because it is a free-cut saw so the cuts are not perfectly straight. Safety with this machine is significant because if you don’t actually be careful the blade can kick back or even shoot back into you, it is important to be careful in what you are doing so you don’t get hurt.
