Throughout my high school and college career, I had a specific group with me along the way: musicians. In high school, I was in the marching band and the concert band. In college, I was in the orchestra and the pep band. Band for me wasn’t about playing the music. Music, to me, is just a hobby. What these group of musicians gave me was a sense of family. We would spend hours upon hours together with a common goal. In high school, that goal was to cheer on the football team or entertain a crowd. In college, it is all about basketball. The sense of school spirit that comes along with pep band is why I decided to include this. We are the most loyal fans to our school’s basketball teams, both men and women.
