In both Night and Band of Brothers we see many characters lose their innocence. The characters we see in the two texts are very different, on one side we have the members of the holocaust, and on the other we have the people fighting against Hitler. In Night Elie gets his innocence torn away from him at a very young age, and he is forced to watch many of his people die. A group of terrorists decided to go into places such as football games, bars, cafes and shoot many people and take people hostage. Many innocent people were forced into horrifying situations, much like the characters in both Night and Band of Brothers. Many of the survivors of these attacks will never be able to gain back the innocence that was taken from them on this night. These types of experiences can change who you are as a person. Like the characters from our texts, these people will have to learn how to cope with the traumas they have been through. These types of horrible acts are, sadly, a part of our world that will never go away. The only thing we can do is try to understand the motives so we can be better prepared next
