Today was Friday and I just got off of work when my friend Louis called me, "Hey Jack, you want to shoot up to Rick's Restaurant tonight? There are some bands playing,".
"I'm up for it, hopefully they aren't as bad as last week's band," I replied.
"I agree, I don't know how the lead singers lady could stay through the entire gig," stated Louis.
"Haha I know, I wouldn't be able to do that. I love music but they were bad," I said.
"I don't think we have to worry about a worse band," said Louis.
"Yeah," I agreed.
"So I'll meet you up there at 8 then?" Asked Louis, he always needed a schedule.
"Yes that's good, that'll give me plenty of time to get ready," I answered, then we hung up. The conversation had reminded me of what happened at Rick's last week. Louis and I went up last week because we were itching to hear some good music. We meet up there at 8, our usual time. When we got there we got our dinner, the music didn't start for an hour and we had planned it out so that we can eat and everything and be done right

I looked around and saw people who looked bored with this band. Everyone in the restaurant looked like they wanted to leave. I couldn't blame them, I wanted to leave as well. I went there looking for some good music but got the opposite which upset me. People started to stand up and leave the restaurant. She was on the phone with someone and I happened to hear part of the conversation as she walked by, "Thank you, the band isn't good and I'm not having a good time,". I believed that everyone in this restaurant was thinking the same thing. There were people that would actually boo the band, wanting to get kicked out rather than listen to this band for another

Until I met letlive. The way the singer connected with his music was beautiful. At one point he was crying, he was laughing and then after the first song I swear he had us all crying or moving along to the music, It was beautiful. I learned from that specific concert that it isn’t okay to judge a band by a song. Just because one song isn't good, or sounds funny doesn't mean that their music doesn't mean anything.…

It was beginning to get dark on a Thursday night in the middle of November of my freshman year in high school. As we were beginning to conclude practice, Coach King called us into a huddle to discuss with us the game plan for our next game against Calvary Christian School. As coach was addressing all of the tasks that needed to be done before the game the next day, I was overwhelmed with a certain nervousness that sent chill through my body. Earlier in the week, our starting quarterback was injured and I was given the starting job. At the time that I was first told that I would be the starting quarterback for the coming week’s semifinal game, I did not experience any nervous feeling.…

I stood looking through the dirty windows of the train station. The smell of trashcans and wet wood lingered in the dusty air of the old building.
