Band And Blue Crew: A Personal Analysis

For as long as I can remember, the University of Wisconsin Madison is a top school that thinks highly of their students and faculty. Success is the idea I have followed throughout my high school career. There is, however, a few points where I have failed that concept. During my freshman year of high school, I had started off earning very good grades and I worked very hard to earn those grades. This changed during biology. That first term, second semester was the first time I received a grade lower than an “A” in high school. I felt I had worked very hard and was let down, or so I thought. I felt that I learned my lesson when I earned an “A” again the next term. Despite my strong belief, I did not learn my lesson. I earned a “B” for both terms I was taking AP Psychology. Even though I will not be able to continue some of these activities in the future, I would like to take the experiences and bring them to Madison. One of the activities I am interested in involving myself with, is a leadership program. My time in band and Blue Crew has given me a plentiful amount of opportunities to be a leader which is a very important aspect of life. Two more activities I am interested in joining are Greek life and a community service organization. Being involved in Girl Scouts and Blue Crew have really shown me that community service is something I really enjoyed being apart of. Not only will Greek Life and the community service program provide me with the aspect of community service, but it will be a great college experience that I can use in a career. With my time at Madison I would like to make use of the work out facilities, as well, to stay fit due to the lack of a heavily devoted softball program. Band is the final activity I am possibly interested in getting involved with. I do enjoy playing in band but it may not be a good fit for me entering

The day we expected to get our assignments back, I felt calm and confident. When I received my paper and saw what my grade was and the comments my teachers made, my whole mood changed. The grade and the remarks were nothing of what I expected, and the grade was well below what I normally score. After this assignment I started to give up because I did not think I would ever do as good and that my writing, in fact, did not improve at all, but Mrs. Moore told me not give up and to keep trying. The talk we had made me realize that I need to learn from this experience and continue to work hard and do my absolute best.…
