Although the internet has played a significant role in the feminist movement, personally I do not believe we are in a fourth wave of feminism. The utilization of the internet during the feminist movement is enough to emphasize the Third Wave of feminism but not enough to transition society from it into a new wave. During the Third Wave of Feminism, feminists have encouraged acceptance of people regardless of their gender and race as well as encouraged the participation to end the objectification of women and double standards. In one effort to counter double standards, the organization known as, #BanBossy works to empower women and girls to achieve their ambitions without fear of being called “bossy”.
