Banana Split Party

Finally, Sixth Grade Science Camp, swim party, field trips, graduation, and banana split party! Finally, I got there to sixth grade. I love sixth grade. Next year, I will be going to Hopkins. I just went to Science Camp at Mission Springs and it was awesome. We were in cabins with friends in other classes. We did many activities there. I loved the campfire. To get there, we had to hike up a mountain. After we got there, we listened to song, watched dances, and enjoyed plays. We can put a banana slug on our noses. If we do, we can attend the Banana Split party. Another thing I love about sixth grade is the swim party. I can’t wait till we are in the swim party. We can swim and play with friends. Finally, now it is graduation time. The time

My favorite lesson/topic I learned this year was about cannibalism, Jamestown and Disney’s inaccurate movies. I liked learning about Jamestown because when the settlers ran out of food, they ate each other. I also liked learning about this because we got to play Minecraft and build our own little Jamestown. I enjoyed learning about cannibalism in general because I liked seeing Jaylens reaction about everything, and because it was just fun to learn about in general. If someone does cannibalism or “Biggest Fails in History” for ROWVA Chill I'm definitely taking that class.…

Seventh grade, my second year now at what I thought to be the worst school in the world. On back to school night I met a man who would change my perspective on life completely, that man being Brandon Lilly. Henry Adams once said “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” At a mere five-foot four he appeared to be a kid minus the burly lumberjack beard that he possessed. I remember being skeptical at first because I had never had a male teacher before.…

The most memorable unit from my educational experience occurred in my twelfth grade English class. The unit was a comparative reading about Beowulf and Gilgamesh, which entailed several discussion based lectures and a final paper comparing the archetypes of heroes and characters. For me, this unit was so interesting as we discussed what made a hero and the hero’s journey, during this time I was writing my own book. I connected with this lesson because of my experiences outside school; with this said, a friend of mine who was in the class with me recalls the unit as well. Though, our opinions of it differ.…

How much does caliber affect a person’s opinion? In the short story, “The Stolen Party” written by Liliana Heker, strongly emphasizes the differences within a society's class. It starts off with Luciana, a girl from the upper class, inviting Rosaura, the daughter of Luciana’s maid, to her party. Rosaura wholeheartedly believes that she is being treated as an equal, as Luciana’s friend, at the party, but throughout the night she is constantly fetching drinks, running around, and being purposely avoided. Through the development of Rosaura, the short story clarifies the levels in the social ladder; which suggests people in the higher parts of society manipulate and use those of lower social status because their desire for acceptance clouds their judgement.…

We are sometimes only able to see the things that we do not have and overlook the things that we do. We take for granted things like freedom, equality, and being able to gain an education. What makes up an election is dependent on the various options the people have of choosing from. In politics, more parties means more opinions, which means more options for those who chose to vote. This can be seen as a constructive thing as the voter can decide from various opinions between the political parties. Or quite possibly deconstructive as having various dominant parties has a much higher chance of leading to a minority government, depending on how the countries system works. In Canada, there are many parties that have the ability to run, however only five of them are ever in the picture.…
