Body Content: Monday morning rolls around and you drag yourself out of bed. Your ears feel like their stuffed full of cotton and your nose is a disgusting dripping mess. A bird is squawking just outside your window, aggravating your already pounding headache. As you stumble into the bathroom, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror; a bedraggled wretch with red, puffy eyes stares straight back you. Ugh, how are you ever going to get ready for work

You breathe in deeply, inhaling the fresh morning air. As you open your eyes, you feel refreshed and wide awake. You sit up and stretch, pausing for a moment to enjoy the sweet docile notes of a songbird drifting towards you. You hop out of bed and head straight to the kitchen to pour yourself a nice refreshing glass of orange juice. Ah, just another perfect start to another perfect day.

To Be a Slob or Not to Be While some people still hold to the fact that working one’s hardest and not appearing to seem lazy is in one’s best interest, others may try to explain how making the minimum effort of doing things can have greater perks than trying to do the best of one’s ability. Over 15 years ago, Robert Nash (2011) developed a new academic writing style called Scholarly Personal Narrative (SPN). For the first time in academics the unacceptable use of the ‘subjective I [me]’was acceptable in scholarly writing. Before SPN only the ‘objective they [we]’ was appropriate for research because scholars believed that only experts could support an agreeable or disagreeable topic. Nash (2011) wanted SPN to become, “a respectable research genre in higher education, particularly in the professional schools” (p. 4), so he wrote his first book, Liberating Scholarly Writing: The Power of Personal Narrative (2004).…

Consequently, wealth disparity has made it difficult for the lower classes of Americans to achieve the level of success that the highest class has. In addition, the share of aggregate income held by the upper class has increased from 29 percent to 49 percent.(“The American Middle Class Is Losing Ground”) This means that the richest portion of the population possesses nearly half of the wealth,…

Attitudes surrounding co-sleeping vary greatly throughout different cultures, as do the shaping factors for these outlooks. In general, those from individualistic cultures go to great lengths to discourage co-sleeping, citing, possible long-term behavioral and health effects, safety risks and out-of-home child rearing advice as key determining factors in their decision.
