Freddie Gray, 25 years old, was being transported in a police van after being charged with possession of an illegal switchblade. He was beaten by police while being transported to the prison, leaving him in a coma where he later died from his injuries. In the wake of Freddie Gray’s funeral riots broke out in Baltimore, buildings were looted and burned down, and rioters threw glass bottles and rocks at the police. After many hours of protest and unrest in the city the Mayor called a State of Emergency. The National Guard was dispatched to Baltimore and a one week curfew was set from 10pm to 5am.

This caused many stores to close and dozens of people got arrested.
However, it was a decoy. Simultaneously the organization blocked terminals at the St. Paul International Airport on the busiest travel day of the year. More than 100 protesters gathered their to block the terminal two of which had to be closed. 15 people were arrested but no one was injured at the airport. This protest was all because of the death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark who was fatally shot by a Minneapolis police. Many angry protesters also gathered at the Mall of America after police killings that happened in New York City and Ferguson, Missouri.
My source was very helpful it told about how the Mall of America protest were a decoy for something even bigger. My source for this is the New york Post, they’re very reliable. The New York Post was a little biased in the article because they mainly focused on the Black Lives Matter organization. Its goal was to tell about The Black Lives Matter movements protest and Mall of America decoy. This article was very helpful to me.
