Ballyfermot College: Case Study

Decent Essays
Ballyfermot College is constantly in evolution and there are now many new opportunities since legislative change in July 2012. Over the years since its inauguration in the early 80s the College has managed to meet many of the needs of both learners and industry alike. Future pedagogic development will inevitably put greater emphasis on ICTs and VLEs. It is imperative that the task of working with these new technologies is encouraged and implemented immediately.

The voice of learners must be central to all future developments and their needs in combination with the needs of industry and our economy must be closely matched. This can be done through careful collaboration with stakeholders where ownership of the innovations is shared.

My mother, Annette MacRitchie, made the life changing decision to come to TWU from Ontario. In 1985, she had the privilege of being awarded the Terry Fox Scholarship, which she could choose to use at any Canadian University. She chose to attend Trinity because at that time it was the only Christian university in Canada. It turns out she never moved back to Ottawa, and the bonds made at Trinity have survived the test of time. To this day, she still tells me it was the best decision she made in her younger years.…

Christian Brothers University has a long standing relationship with both strong morals and a close knit student body. On the tour of this university, I observed some small classes of which no more than perhaps thirty chairs were situated; this, coupled with Christian Brothers` strong academic standing in Tennessee has, to say the least, brought my attention to this choice over my others.
