Ballistic Stretching- Ballistic stretching is similar to dynamic stretching however it uses a bouncing or jerking movement to increase the range of motion. Dynamic stretches are controlled body movements which take you to the limits of your range of motion.
Ballistic Stretching would most benefit gymnastics as in this sport you need a greater range of movement in order to perform better routines due to you being able to stretch further. Footballers can also benefit from this as they suffer many injuries because of over stretching their muscles.
An advantage of this type of training is that it improves your dynamic flexibility meaning this method helps to improve mobility. It also pushes the body past its comfort zone, ballistic stretching allows you to handle the range of motion effectively and will also help for

Weight Training is useful in most contact sports such as Rugby, Football and Sumo Wrestling. This is because it gives you an extra advantage over your opponent in that sport. For example, if you are stronger than your opponent in football you are more likely to keep the ball. Strength is also used in no contact such as weight lifting, athletes need strength due to them having to lift huge amounts of weight.
Advantages of weight training is that you can focus on one individual aspect of your body depending on your sport and you can train your body to fit this specific sport. For weight training there are many ways to work on one specific area of the body meaning you won’t get bored easily. Another advantage is that you can use free weights and resistance weights.
