It’s Alot of Fun Even though I’ve already stress the difficulty of strength and technique training, ballet is best when you just have fun. As long as you’re not trying to compete, having fun is the most important part of any hobby or sport, ballet included. Usually only very young girls (i.e. 4-9 year olds) wear pink, or sometimes white. Older girls wear all black. The only time a ballerina may wear a pink tutu as as a costume, during a dance recital. However, in 7 total years of being in dance recitals, I have never worn a pink tutu or seen a pointe dancer wearing a pink tutu. One of the most common misconceptions about ballerinas is that we always wear pointe shoes (also called toe-shoes). However, this is entirely untrue. Only ballerinas who have trained for many years wear pointe shoes, as they can be extremely damaging to your feet and legs if you are inept at using them properly. It takes an abundance of conditioning and preparing before you can even do basic turns and leaps in them.
