Baldwin's Speech: Racial Key To Identity

When reading James Baldwin’s speech, it is obviously shown that Baldwin believes strongly that people decide who you are according to the way you talk. Although people may try to have an open-mind about others, usually people judge others without thinking. James Baldwin supports this idea: “It is the most vivid and crucial key to identity”. Believe it or not, the way you talk does say a lot about you as a person. While speaking, one wrong thing said may give the wrong impression. Your language is who you are.
Sure, people may try not to be judgmental when it comes to language and may try to have an open mind. Some may argue that there are people who are not quick to judge. It is true that in certain situations, it might not matter what you speech sounds like. For example, if you have an accent, it should not make you seem a certain way.
