Bald Eagle Persuasive Essay

In the 1960’s the eagle population began to plummet rapidly. As an effort to prevent the bald eagle’s extinction volunteers and scientists nationwide teamed up to stop the eagle sudden decrease. In fact, the eagle population was so low that the Endangered Species Act was placed over the bald eagle. Many laws and acts were placed, all in efforts of saving America’s well-known symbol; the bald eagle. Later in the 1940’s scientists began noticing a rapid decrease in the bald eagle population. As a result, scientists began looking for ways to help this nationwide issue come to a stop. For example, scientists found that “DDT didn’t kill the eagle’s, but it did weaken the shells of their eggs.” This is a pesticide used to control mosquitoes and other pests. However, it did not have the best impact on the eagle population, later it took its toll regarding the eagle, population plummet.
