Not everyone I work with will understand the demands of being a student and, similarly, and the additional responsibilities of working while in school. Stress is an inevitable part of being a student, mom and a worker-- combining all together and you can expect to be stressed out. As much as you may try to prevent stress, you're going to have to learn how to relieve. I take as much needed breaks. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps relieve stress and i find that the more I get out and exercise, the easier work and school seems.…

Right now, October 2017, about six weeks into sophomore year, and I feel like I’m under a massive amount of stress. College tends to be the topic up for discussion, so my parents expect me to have B+’s and higher in the grade book. Also, my grandfather’s were both in band, so a requirement for me is to learn and memorize four pages of music, then learn another three pages for All Region and re-auditions in the middle of November, and remember about fortyseven spots on the football field. Feeling the pressure by parents and friends to accomplish multiple different tasks can be extremely overwhelming. A large amount of people around the world know and understand the fear, stress, and idea of trying to succeed at many objectives at one time that…
Last semester was definitely the hardest for me. I have two challenging research papers toward the end of the semester. I find it hard because I did not know what to write about and which assignments I should start on first. I manage to overcome this challenge by narrowing the topics and start on the paper that was closest to deadline. My stress level was at 10 because I skip meals and stayed up all night long to finish my papers.…
People these days think that students are not learning enough in school. The school thinks it is a good idea to shorten vacation time and go to school all year round with longer breaks. On the other hand, other people think that it is a bad idea to do this because students usually learn things out of school during summer break. The school year should not be lengthened because it stresses adolescents out, it will make them feel pressured, and it does not give them an opportunity to expand their horizons. Students need a break from school after their school year.…

Teaching How would it feel to start a change? Every person dreams of doing something great, they want to be a famous rock star, own a huge corporation, or perhaps fight fires. Some just want to make the world a better place. In 2007 and 2008, some 76 percent of public school teachers were female, 44 percent were under age 40, and 52 percent had a master’s or higher degree (http://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=28) To change to world starts with the leaders of tomorrow; When Jenny Seib, a teacher for over a decade was asked “What is your favourite thing about your career?”…

“Without stress management, all too often your body is always on high alert.” (mayoclinic.com) There are so many factors that can lead to stress, but they need to be managed well because stress impairs health. Stress is not good for any individual but it is a normal demand of life.…
Violent behavior by adolescents is a serious phenomenon, and one that has the potential to create serious costs for society. For example, in 2010, juveniles were involved in 27% of all serious violent victimizations in Leon County alone. These violent crimes by juveniles have become increasingly lethal in recent years, as young people have more access to guns. While overall homicide rates in the U. S. have remained constant over the last three decades, youth homicide rates have risen. In 1997, more than 1,400 murders were determined to have involved a juvenile (U. S. Department of Justice, 1999).…
How many times have you walked into a room and suddenly forgotten why you went in there in the first place? When this happens, do you joke that you’ve just had “a senior moment?” Most of us believe that cognitive decline is just a part of the aging process. In fact, until very recently, scientists believed that the brain stopped making new neural connections when the body stopped developing, at about age 20. This would mean that our memory and other cognitive functions would get irreversibly worse once we reached the legal drinking age.…
In my first semester here at High Point University I have learned a few lessons in The President’s Seminar that will help me throughout the rest of my life. In all of those lessons that were given the two that stuck with me; how to create an effective presentation and how to manage my time. While attending these lessons I have learned ways to make my life more successful. I believe that these lessons will stick with me and help me in my future jobs. When you are giving a presentation you must have confidence and you shouldn’t be scared or be embarrassed to be in front of people.…
My experience of stress can be best described as a rollercoaster, steadily climbing and once at the top it can plunge down and back up and to the left and to the right, almost as if the stress is controlling the ride. Stress has changed over the years as well. My early childhood life didn’t include the worry of life, but the concern of self. I grew up as a very shy individual and was constantly scared to talk or speak in many situations. I am not sure how or why I was a shy individual, but it was a big stressor during my early development.…
