At a young age, I was taught to do things for the greater good, my family has always given back whether it is donating food and clothes or adopting a family for Christmas. Growing up I have received assistance because at times my mother and I needed help so I personally know how much of an impact a small act of kindness can have and that is why I decided to join the Bakersfield Police Explorer program, which is community service based volunteer work. Getting into this program required various steps such as entrance testing, background check, and an interview.
