My Exotic Trip to the Bahamas

Sunny skies, Hot sand, crystal clear ocean, that is what you can find in the Magnificent Bahamas. Some of the amazing adventures I did in the Bahamas are swimming with the dolphins, finding exotic restaurants, and looking at the amazing animals. I wish I could go back to the Bahamas to see the amazing resort we stayed at.
We landed at 7:00 on a cool Thursday morning. As we were getting off the plane, me and my sister were running to get out of the hot and stuffy tunnel. We finally wiggled away through the tunnel to see the outside through the windows. Me and my sister stood there in awe looking at the beautiful view of the Bahamas. As I was walking I noticed a shiny penny on the ground. When I picked it up I notice a shell on the back instead of having the Lincoln Memorial. I asked my mother, “Why is there a shell on the back of this penny?”
My mother responded “ The Bahamas does not have the same currency as the United states.”
After we loaded up on yummy snacks and beverages, we went to the hotel. When we got there all we could do is stare up. The building was gigantic! As we were walking in, me and my sister sprinted to the gift shop. My sister spotted a turtle with had big brown eyes and realistic brown shell. I saw this little pamphlet that had all the coins in the Bahamas. My parents finally got done checking in and we got to our room. What we didn’t know that the next 7 days were gonna be the best, happiest, funniest week of my

Why must we continue to produce coins which are worth less than nothing? Why did the penny not die out in 2006? Why do we make coins that simply aren’t worth someone’s time and money?…

I have yet figured out what made the trip so special it is among the beautiful sights I saw during my trip or the even beautiful souls I spent the trip with; my high school basketball team. We went to the Bahamas with one mission, to win the entire tournament; but we accomplished much more. We bonded with one another and experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity. The memories that I made during my trip will forever be in the back of my mind.…

From the green hillsides to the bright blue ocean, Jamaica is a luscious and beautiful country. However, interspersed throughout the island are impoverished communities set apart from the large homes and resorts. I took all of this in as I got the unique opportunity to travel to Jamaica to volunteer in a medicine and healthcare program. Each morning, I looked out the window of the taxi to see people walking to work in their polo shirts and long pants in the 90 degree weather, or stray dogs wandering around. While I was staying in a large city, I got to travel out to rural areas to visit primary schools to teach kids about nutrition, exercise, and hygiene.…

Then I went to Mexico and felt the warm ocean breeze roll off the waves and thought man it would be tremendous to be somewhere comparable to this all the time. The resort my family stayed at was exquisite and it had a humongous pool. However, the beach was rocky and not enjoyable to relax on causing my family to go around to different beaches that were quite a bit superior. There was this one time where out of nowhere it started storming forcing all the people on the beach crammed in under this canopy. The canopy was an outdoor restaurant so while all the people on the beach waited for the storm to die down, my parents bought us nachos that were super savory.…
