Romeo and Juliet do not act with caution, patience, or wisdom. They act on impulse and in haste--and they get bad advice. Romeo and Juliet could have done other things for example, by thinking through their ideas and plans. They could have thought more about their marriage and how their parents would think about it. They should have also thought about their plan to reunite and how dangerous it was for Juliet. “ Give me, give me! Plenty of people are villainous and dishonorable, yet for most of our life we rely on others for learning and in risky and important decisions, we listen to advice first, they we determine our conclusion. Theoretically, does this make sense? Usually when someone is asked to give advice, their “help” doesn’t lead to multiple deaths. For most people, that would be considered bad advice or not doing the right thing. In Romeo and Juliet, there are several characters who would be considered bad advice-givers and would never be asked for advice again. Nurse and Friar Lawrence, the mentors and parental-like figures for Romeo and Juliet, are not good characters to fall under that category, considering their influences on the play’s outcome. Even though Nurse and Friar Lawrence offer good advice and are trying to help Romeo and Juliet, their ways are questionable and sometimes even illegal, leading to them not having down the “right things” in their situations.…
