- Yes, the objective was specific enough for me to have a focus. I was easily able to describe the impact of inventions, including the cotton gin, the reaper, the steamboat, and the steam locomotive, on life in America. Students were also able to demonstrate their knowledge of westward expansion and reform in America from 1801 to 1861 by describing those same inventions.

- Yes, the outline of instructional plans did work as anticipated. My outline was thorough and easy to follow along. Although there had to be a few minor changes, I stuck with the original outline step by step.

- I believe I planned quite well for materials. I was sure to make extra copies of all worksheets needed, and Mr. Peters also had a few extra worksheets for me as well. Due to proper preparations, there were no problems, and I didn’t need to make any adjustments once I began.

This lesson was centered on building context of the four main inventions. My students will be assessed on my third day of teaching by taking a mini-quiz and presenting presentations. For today’s lesson, I suppose the informal assessment was the BrainPop quiz. Despite not having an assessment, I do feel confident that the lesson was a success. I feel this way because it was very straightforward. Students were asked to go through four presentations and filling out their corresponding. To make sure they weren’t just copying down the information, they were asked to state facts in their own words. Since students were able to do that, I believe the lesson was a success.
