Shaking For Butter Butter is so good! You can bake with butter and top just about anything with it, but how is it made? What ingredients make it so delicious?
“Butter is the fatty portion of milk, separating as a soft whitish of yellowish solid when milk or cream is agitated or churned. ”(The Definition of Butter) Butter is used for many different things. “Churning butter is the butter made at any one time.”(The Definition of Churning) It is basically shaking or mixing cream around until butter has formed. You can churn by hand or by a machine. “The earliest churns were goatskins or other primitive containers in which cream could be agitated. Many people have also used the regular glass jar as a quick, but tiring, way to get a great snack.
