How To Do a Backbend, Elbow-Stand, Kickover

Have you ever gone to the circus and gasped at the contortionists? Well today I am going to teach you how to do one of their simplest tricks. You do a backbend, then you move onto your elbows, and you kickover. This is a cool trick to show your friends and they will want to learn to do this as well. Gymnastics is a good way to keep your body limber and flexible. This is the kind of things that doesn’t require a lot of materials or steps.

The materials you will need are:
Athletic Clothes
For example; yoga pants, shorts, tank top, t-shirt, or you can wear an actual leotard.
A Mat
I suggest you never do this on the ground, without a mat, because it can cause serious injury
No Shoes or Socks
Hair in ponytail or

Do a couple of bridges and backbends
Circle your wrists and ankles to help them be ready for the weight you will put on them
Practice all the different tricks separately.
Practice a few backbends.
Then move to backbend-kickovers.
Practice kicking up into an elbow stand.
Now, while doing your elbow stand, try to touch you feet to the mat, over your head.
Then practice elbow stand kickovers.
Put all of the steps you just practiced together into one fluid motion
Go back into a backbend.
Slowly transfer from your hands onto your forearms.
Kick one of your legs over.
Preferably the one you start your cartwheels with.

Now you’re one step closer to being a contortionist. Gymnastics and acrobatics are really easy if you keep your body limber and flexible. This will help you as you grow older. Tricks like this one can help your bones become stronger. So when you get older your bones won’t be as fragile as most people’s. Also , if you really love gymnastics you can take classes for many different types of dance that include acrobatics. Hip-Hop, lyrical, ballet, jazz, and many more include gymnastics and acrobatics. A trick like this one is amazing, but sadly there isn’t a cool name for it
