Annemarie, I agree with you that the baccalaureate degree should be the minimum entry level into the nursing practice. A nurse with a baccalaureate degree does have better patient outcomes and are even themselves more satisfied with their jobs. A nurse who is isn’t satisfied with his/her job won’t be committed to providing the best patient care and may lead to errors or leaving their job. A higher education degree not only benefits the patient, but the nurse as well, they are able to progress in their education into NP or CRNA.
