Though at hindsight, imperialism seems like a great ideology, but the reality is that imperialism causes madness of many forms. The objectification of women, the automation of the African inhabitants of the Congo River, to the programming of the workers within the Company, Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad, displays the reality of the effects of imperialism. As Hassan Nasrallah once said, “So long as there is imperialism in the world, a permanent peace is impossible.”
