A New Responsibility

Taking on a new responsibility can be a terrifying experience. One of the scariest things I had to do is babysit my little brother, Matthew. I was always afraid of staying home with just my brother, but I knew it was something I would have to eventually do in the future. I also knew it would be nice to spend time with him. What I didn't know was that babysitting could help me and my brother get to know each other more.

New responsibilities makes me nervous, and my first time babysitting was no exception. When my parents left the house, my brother said he wanted to play his Xbox. He was playing Skylanders Imaginators, and he couldn't beat the bad guys. He got mad and started throwing stuff at me. He then said he wanted a snack, so I went get him one. When I came back, the room was a disaster. He had his bed unmade, and he was crying. He was having an asthma attack, and I didn't know what to do. So, I called my mom, and she told me to give him his pump; he could do the rest himself.

I asked him what he wanted; he said he wanted beef stew. However, I didn't know how to make beef stew. When I told him that, he threw a fit. So, I asked him what else he wanted, and he said spaghetti. I was in luck because I knew how to make that. So, I sat down and waited for the water to boil. Next thing I knew, Matthew was screaming because he had stuck his hand in the boiling water. I called my mom, and she said they were coming home. When they got home, they rushed him to the hospital. We waited for an hour, and I got bored. The doctor said that Matthew had a second degree burn. When we got home, we had to wrap his hand in an ACE bandage. He had to put on lotion and some medicine to help his hand feel

Many people claim they do not believe in urban legends, however, some urban legends have the power to make people stop and question themselves. What if these legends that are passed down from generation to generation by the word of mouth or electronically have truth to them? Almost all new pregnant couples do not know how to swaddle a baby. New couples who are pregnant simply do not have the experience or knowledge about children. A couple might also be using the ancient knowledge that used to work when their grandparents were growing up, but parenting is changing, so parenting classes for all stages of childhood should be mandatory for pregnant couples with their first child.…

My First Time Babysitting It was a dark rainy Friday evening, school just let out for the weekend and I was free except I still had one thing to do left, as I was doing a weird walk jog across the campus while trying not to get soaked just to get to the main building, as my phone started to make this weird ringing noise and obviously I got a bunch of looks. When I looked at my phone I saw that my dad was calling me and when I answered my dad told me not to walk home in the rain and just wait it out. Once I got to the main high school building, I walked through the maze of hallways and lockers, and finally just finally I made it to the front of the building. It was still pouring down rain when I looked out of the window, by this time the storm was almost through…
